Image rights
Nearly uses one still per film, cropped to a face, to ask a single question: how old was this actor when the film came out? This page says how we use those images and how to have one taken down.
What we use
- One frame from each film, cropped and reduced to a small web image (about 640 pixels wide). Nothing larger is stored or served.
- Stills are retrieved through The Movie Database API and shown with the film's title and year. We do not use posters, key art, publicity photographs or behind-the-scenes material.
- No still appears in link previews, share cards or anywhere outside the game itself. Preview images are drawn by us and contain only text and a dial.
- Nearly carries no advertising and sells nothing.
What we do not claim
The films and the frames belong to their rights holders. Nearly does not claim any licence or ownership over them, and the names, titles and dates shown are factual references to the works.
Removal
If you hold the rights to a still or appear in one and would prefer it not be used, tell us which film it is and we will remove it within 24 hours of your message, without argument. The question is swapped for another face and the image is deleted from the site and from our working files.
Write to rights@nearly.gg. Please include the film title and, if you can, the link to the page the still appears on.
Data
Birth dates and release dates come from Wikidata. Cast and still information comes from The Movie Database. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. More on the game itself, including the age rule and scoring, is on the About page; past days are in the archive.
